Mason City motorcyclist injured in collision
MASON CITY — A Mason City man was injured when his motorcycle collided with a car at Highway 65 and the Avenue of the Saints Monday morning.
According to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department, Jack Larson, 55, was southbound on Highway 65 when he ran into the driver’s side of a vehicle driven by Brent Peterson, 34, of Britt.
According to a news release from the sheriff’s department, Peterson exited off the Avenue of the Saints, proceeded to the stop sign and pulled into the intersection. Peterson told authorities he didn’t see the motorcycle.
The accident was reported at 6:33 a.m. Monday.
Larson was transported to Mercy Medical Center—North Iowa were he was listed in fair condition Monday night, according to a hospital spokesman.
Larson was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Peterson was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway.
