This week in the news...


Brinkman, Majewski wed
Rachel Elizabeth Brinkman and Tyler Duane Majewski exchanged wedding vows in a 4 p.m. ceremony on June 11, 2011, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Greene. Pastor Gary Hatcher officiated the ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Mike and Julie Brinkman, and Duane and Robin Majewski, all of Greene.

Bethany Gabe and Rebecca Small, sisters of the bride, were matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were Jenna Boley, friend of the couple, and Melissa Majewski, sister of the groom. Lillian Small and Leah Gabe, nieces of the bride, were flowergirls.
The bride’s personal attendants were Heather Shook and Maggie Vickers, friends of the couple.
Brian Castle, friend of the couple, was the best man. Groomsmen were John Majewski, cousin of the groom; Brock Asher and Tyler Griffin, friends of the couple. Ushers were Cody Gethmann, friend of the couple; Grant Small and Eric Gabe, brothers-inlaw of the bride. Dennis Griffin sang “Love Never Fails.” He was accompanied by Sandra Schuknecht on the piano.
Honored guests at the ceremony were the bride’s grandparents Darrel and Letha Brinkman, of Greene, and the groom’s grandparents Melvin and Berdine Majewski, of Charles City. and Don and Virginia Feldman, of Greene. Danielle Majewski, friend of
the couple, attended the guest book.
The reception and dance were held at the Franklin County Convention Center in Hampton. Hosts and Hostesses for the event were Monty and Betty Heitland, cousins of the bride, and Tim and
Marla Feldman, uncle and aunt of the groom.
Rachel is employed by Upper Iowa University and Tyler is employed by Unverferth Manufacturing. Following a honeymoon in Jamaica, they are making their home in Waverly.

Freeseman promoted to new position in Mason City office

MASON CITY — First Citizens National Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of DeLaine Freeseman to senior vice president of credit administration. The position is located at the West Mason City office.

Freeseman has been with First Citizens National Bank since 1995, when he was hired at the Charles City location as a commercial lender. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from University of Northern Iowa. Freeseman is a CPA and has attended the Iowa School of Banking, Ag Credit School, and the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wis.

Outside of work, Freeseman gives back much of his time. He currently serves on the City Council of Charles City, is a Charles City Chamber ambassador, and is a member of the Charles City Lions Club. Previously, Freeseman has served on the Charles City and Clarksville school boards, as president of the Charles City Chamber of Commerce, on two state rally committees for the Iowa HOG Rally, and as a board member for United Ways in Webster City and Charles City.

Freeseman lives in Charles City with his wife, Jane, a registered nurse. They have two sons, Lance and Brett, both of Minneapolis.

Perrin Park

The Greene Jaycee's spearheaded a project where they made the shelter house at Perrin Park larger, and they have bricks you can order in honor of or in memory of or celebration of....whatever....so our Class of '75 will have one honoring our class. Julie ordered one like the above, and sometime I hope to stop down when they are all installed and get a real photo of it.
